Management Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Management Accountant to join our client’s finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes. This position requires a strong understanding of commercial accountancy and project-oriented systems/processes as well as advanced Excel skills. The Management Accountant will also be responsible for managing the accounts team and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Duties:
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Develop budgets and forecasts in collaboration with departmental heads, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Utilise accounting software effectively to maintain financial records and generate reports.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between budgeted and actual figures, providing explanations and recommendations for improvement.
- Supervise and mentor the accounts team.
- Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies, maintaining the integrity of financial data.
Requirements:
- An experienced commercial accountant with strong management accountancy skills and ideally knowledge of costing processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ideally ERP systems and with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
