Assistant Accountant
My client is the Rustington Group, a successful privately-owned leisure business which incorporates Rustington Golf Centre and the ‘Out of Bounds’ activity centre. The assistant accountant will support the finance manager in running all aspects of transactional accounting for the companies within the group.
You remit will include:
• Check supplier invoices to Purchase Order system and process to Xero ensuring correct coding.
• Process supplier payments in accordance with agreed terms.
• Raise customer invoices for group bookings
• Ensure customer invoices are paid in a timely manner and chase as appropriate.
• Handle any customer queries received regarding payments made.
• Reconcile company credit and business card transactions.
• Distribute weekly reports and support Finance Manager with ad-hoc reports.
Experience and Attributes:
• An experienced assistant accountant with proven success in a similar role.
• AAT qualified or with an equivalent level of practical experience, particularly in sales/purchase ledgers, reconciliations and credit control.
• A strong aptitude for IT including Xero, Excel, and modern business systems.
• Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
• Attentive to detail – but also able to see the bigger picture.
• Excellent organisation and planning skills.
• Strong communication skills – a positive person who enjoys effective teamwork.
• Flexible, positive, honest and highly professional attitude.

Please note that hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday with 25 days’ holiday.
Part-time hours will be considered (three days per week) in which case the salary/holiday allowance will be pro rata.
