Client Money Auditor
Are you a chartered accountant who is looking for a new role offering a fresh challenge and the potential for long term career growth? My client is The Letting Partnership, a trusted and established client accounting service provider to letting agents across the UK. The business specialises in client money handling, offering a full suite of outsourced services alongside expert audits and compliance support.
The audit team currently delivers detailed HealthChecks – remote financial audits recognised by major Client Money Protection (CMP) insurers. Owing to continued expansion, a new Accountant’s Report service is being launched, creating the role of an in-house accountant to take ownership of this offering and help scale it for the future.
The intention is to build an enhanced range of financial services for outsourcing partners, from bookkeeping to MTD landlord services, end of year statutory accounts and Companies House submissions. This is a unique opportunity for an ACCA or ACA qualified accountant to take the lead in developing and delivering these services from the ground up, helping to define the strategy, systems, and structure of a brand-new offering within an already successful and trusted business.
Key duties in summary:
- Drive the Accountant’s Report process in collaboration with the operational team.
- Prepare and sign off reports for CMP providers.
- Lead the design and roll out of new bookkeeping and year-end financial reporting services.
- Price new service lines, working with senior leadership to identify market opportunities.
- Lead the exploration design and rollout of TLP’s landlord Making Tax Digital (MTD) service.
- Work with the global development teams to modernise delivery and automate processes.
- Play a key role in shaping industry-wide audit and compliance solutions.
- Conduct remote audits via secure online submissions and meetings (no site visits required).
- Advise clients on improving financial controls, compliance and operational efficiency.
Our ideal candidate will bring the following qualifications, experience and attributes:
- ACCA or ACA qualification with a valid practising certificate (or ability to obtain one).
- Confidence working independently and engaging directly with clients.
- A commercially minded, entrepreneurial approach with the ability to turn opportunity into structured, profitable services.
- Up to date with accounting, audit and compliance developments, including Making Tax Digital (MTD) and emerging digital reporting standards.
- The credibility to influence at a professional level.
- A progressive mind-set and the ambition to help shape standards in the letting industry.
- The willingness and drive to help TLP lead in the client money and compliance space.
