Customer Services Manager

My client is a leading business in its field, having both a long heritage and exciting future ahead. With global operations and an international customer base, the business support teams at head office in West Sussex are essential in ensuring continued business growth and service delivery.

As manager, your key objective will be to mentor and develop the sales team and lead on successful collaboration with external sales colleagues.

An overview of duties and responsibilities:

  • Management and development of the team, ensuring excellent performance and cross department communication to achieve overall business targets.
  • Oversee continuous improvements in sales administration and order processes.
  • Contribute to marketing plans and promotional campaigns including digital marketing.
  • To be accountable for targets, costs, profitability and margins.
  • Develop positive working relationships with colleagues, leading by example and acting as an ambassador for the company, both internally and externally.

Key requirements for this challenging and important role are:

  • Experience as customer services or internal sales manager gained with a large manufacturing or industrial business, ideally operating within a group structure.
  • Recent experience in managing and developing the efficiency of purchasing and sales administration processes, ideally in an SAP (or similar ERP) environment.
  • Exceptionally strong leadership skills.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of performance with a drive for achieving results and exceeding goals and expectations.
  • Proven success in maximising the potential of modern CRM and business development tools.
