Accounts & Credit Control Assistant – Yeomans, Ferring

Yeomans Limited is a successful, privately-owned motor retail business which operates thirty-eight dealerships and represents fifteen franchises. Operating locations span the South coast of England from Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex to Helston in Cornwall and extend inland as far as Guildford, Farnham and Bridgwater. 

Employing in the region of 850 personnel group wide, the company enjoys an annual turnover in excess of £500 million, retailing over 17,000 new & used vehicles.  You will be based at the company’s newly constructed Head Office in Worthing where the accounts team control a centralised set-up and also where the Managing Director and Finance Director are based.

Your role as Accounts Assistant & Credit Controller will involve working closely as part of a team in the same office but also work with colleagues based at dealerships across the south coast. You will be responsible for processing incoming bank transactions, maintaining a strong credit control function across the Sales Ledger as well taking ownership of various aspects of the Sales Ledger reconciliation function. You will quickly form an important part of the larger Accounts Department at Yeomans House.

Key responsibilities are:

– To accurately process bank receipts and daily banking

– Carry out balance sheet allocations & reconciliations to ensure the Sales Ledger is tidy and reconciled

– To assist with Credit Control duties including running statements, chase letters, stop letters and proactively chasing any overdue debt accounts 

– To liaise with customers and dealership staff to help set up new customer accounts

– To prepare accurate and timely reconciliations of customer deposits for the dealerships

– To assist with day-to-day office administration.
