Accounts Assistant - lovely new vacancy!

Steyning area (car needed) £22,000

time Be one of the first ten applicants Our client is one of the area's most interesting organisations. Its dedicated accounts team are based just outside Steyning, in the heart of rural West Sussex (you will need a car to get there). The position will involve all aspects of purchase ledger - from opening postal and email invoices, to checking authorisations and doing the data input. You will also assist with payment runs and deal with enquiries to ensure a superb purchase ledger service to both suppliers and colleagues throughout the business. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced accounts assistant or purchase ledger controller who takes real pride in maintaining an accurate and efficient ledger. You will be very computer-literate with strong Excel skills. Management Accountant - new role!

We are just starting the recruitment process to find an early-stages ACCA or CIMA studier to join a really successful and well-established company in the Hailsham area. The position will report to the FD and will have responsibility for management of the day to day accounting functions. Your key duties will be to perform all bank and balance sheet reconciliations, prepare P&L and monthly management accounts, periodic cash-flow preparation and reviews, budget and forecasting analysis and HMRC compliance. If you have between three to five years' practical experience in these aspects of financial and management accounting, and are looking for a fresh challenge, then this could be an ideal career move for you. Please note that you must already be actively studying towards ACCA or CIMA and be looking to make a long-term commitment to your next employer. Finance Manager - new role with Meridian Medical

Littlehampton £45,000 plus bonus

Meridian Medical Ltd is a successful privately-owned business which designs, develops and manufactures sterile and non-sterile medical devices for major medical suppliers in the UK. The business now has a turnover of c£6m and employs around 100 staff, with plans to further grow the business by building on long-standing customer relationships. In order to underpin these plans with strong financial control and commercial finance expertise, the company directors have created the new role of finance manager. The successful person will: Manage the accounts assistant in the daily processing of purchase and sales ledger transactions, and all associated reconciliations and administration. Maintain and develop positive supplier and customer relationships to ensure strong cash-flow and maximise profitability. Prepare / review department budgets and monitor performance including monthly meetings with managers. Review and finalise management accounts at month-end, and provide succinct and meaningful commentary on results in comparison to forecast and previous year. Coordinate preparation & submission of year end accounts and corporation tax returns with external accountants. Our ideal candidate will be: Commercially-minded, with a proven track-record of success in a similar role, ideally with a manufacturing or industrial SME business. Comfortable working in a family-owned business culture. Experienced in managing a small team and very happy to undertake routine tasks as and when required. Confident in the use of Sage 50 (or similar) Excel, and ERP systems. Focused, logical, attentive to detail - but also able to see the bigger picture!
