The finance director and controller of this successful business are looking for an accounts assistant to become a valued addition to their accounts team. Reporting to the team leader, you will be responsible for maintaining purchase ledger with all aspects of associated reconciliations and administration. If you have recently worked in a similar position, in either sales or purchase ledgers, and are really confident in the use of Excel, then this could be an ideal career move for you.

Accounts Assistant

This is a terrific new opportunity for an exceptionally bright and dedicated accounts assistant to join a really lovely company who are based just outside Worthing in a rural setting. Reporting to the head of finance you will be key to the smooth running of the accounts department and all associated administration. Your key duties will include: • Process monthly journals and management accounts. • Analysis and posting of daily bank transactions. • Reconcile nominal ledger accounts. • Complete the monthly bank reconciliation. • Prepare daily banking. • Control and operation of the purchase ledger, including processing all invoices and preparing the payment run. • Analyse expense claims and managing company credit card. • Office administration. Our ideal candidate will be a great all-rounder, someone with excellent purchase and sales ledger experience who has also been involved with the preparation of monthly management accounts and year end procedures. You will also be confident in the use of Excel spreadsheets. Assistant Accountant - new role!

I am just starting the hunt for a brilliant assistant accountant to join a lively and very busy company in Southwick. Reporting to the financial controller, you will be responsible for: • Sales invoicing and accurate allocation of inter-company transactions using Sage and Excel spreadsheets. • Receipt of time sheets from subcontractors and ensuring accuracy of data. • Bank reconciliations. • Purchase ledger maintenance. • Aged debtor analysis and credit control by telephone and email. • Maintaining an efficient filing system and other administrative duties. • Dealing with enquiries, ensuring calls are directed efficiently and messages are passed on quickly as appropriate. • VAT returns. • Assisting with month and year end processes. Our ideal candidate will be: • An experienced assistant accountant with strong sales ledger experience and who is used to working in a business which generates a high volume of transactions. • Ideally with experience in the construction industry but this isn’t essential if you have a strong SME accounting background. • Proof of stability and progression with previous employers. • Well-organised, efficient, self-motivated, professional, business-like, proactive and switched-on. • A positive person who wins the trust of colleagues and external contacts and takes real pride in their work. • Very computer-literate with experience in the use of accounts packages such as Sage. • Confident in the use of Excel. • Already living within an easy commute of Southwick. Finance Manager - three month contract

I am just starting the recruitment process for a lovely company who are based in central Worthing. The director of finance is looking for a qualified accountant to provide hands-on technical accounting support for a duration of three months, commencing in the next week or so. You will need to be a great all-rounder, with recent experience in financial and management accounting for a medium-sized or large business, as well as having strong team leadership skills. If you are a chartered accountant and are looking for an assignment with a really interesting organisation then we would love to hear from you.
