Accounts Assistant

Hailsham £12-13.00 per hour

I am just starting the hunt for a brilliant finance/accounts assistant to join one of the area’s most fascinating businesses. The organisation offers a diverse range of services and is supported by a strong finance team who pull together to ensure the accounting processes for all entities are super efficient. Reporting to the very supportive finance manager, you will have responsibility for: The full purchase ledger process, from matching invoices to orders to inputting them to Sage 50 and managing BACS payment runs Reconciliations – dealing with sterling and foreign currency bank payments Petty cash and expenses Administrative duties such as completing ONS surveys Assisting with month-end procedures Payroll processing for submission to the payroll bureau (100 employees) and updating Excel spreadsheets for inclusion in monthly accounts Sales invoicing, issuing email statements, and following up on outstanding payments Maintaining Excel spreadsheets for cashflow monitoring Maintaining efficient filing systems. Our ideal candidate for this busy and varied role will be: AAT level 2 (or equivalent) with recent practical experience in sales and purchase ledger Confident in the use of Sage 50 and Excel (intermediate/advanced user) Extremely professional with a real passion for accuracy and meeting deadlines A team player who is happy to undertake a wide range of tasks to support the finance team and other colleagues throughout the business An excellent communicator who will be a positive ambassador for the business when dealing with customers and suppliers. Project Administrator

My client is an award-winning innovative leader in the manufacture of bespoke industrial components. Following a significant expansion of the facilities and investment in state-of-the-art equipment, the directors are looking for an experienced project administrator to provide a superb support service to the business. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be: Placing and co-ordinating orders with the relevant teams within the business and then owning the life cycle of the project through to completion. Inputting order and project information to the MRP system and maintaining GANT charts for sharing with colleagues and ensuring milestones are met at all times. Maintaining KPI reports to ensure deliveries are always made on time. To be considered for this varied and important opportunity, you will be: An experienced project administrator with proven success in a similar position/environment Confident in the use of Excel and manufacturing/production applications A great communicator who enjoys providing an exceptionally high standard of service to both internal and external customers Diplomatic, determined and able to contribute positively to the team. Finance Manager

Following a significant expansion of the facilities in Littlehampton and investment in state-of-the-art equipment, the directors are looking for a dedicated and tenacious finance manager to support the senior management team and to become a key player in the future development and success of the business. Your remit will include: Preparation of monthly management accounts and reports with commentary and analysis Overseeing all accounting and related business operations to ensure the smooth-running of administrative support functions Effective management and motivation of accounts and administrative staff Working collaboratively with peers in the senior management team and supporting the directors in all aspects of financial control Project accounting and overseeing the efficiency of inventory and purchasing processes Developing MRP and accounting systems to ensure they meet the demands of the business as it continues to grow Setting and maintaining accurate controls in order to mitigate risk Business planning, strategy, budgeting and forecasting All HMRC compliance and overseeing the annual audit in liaison with external accountants. Our ideal candidate will be: ACMA, ACCA or ACA qualified, with proven achievement at this level within a manufacturing or industrial organisation of around £10m turnover (this is essential) Able to grasp complex business models and open to change and innovation A proven leader who has positively influenced operational teams Highly IT-literate with a real interest in the development of systems, knowledge of MRP software and its application would be preferred Ambitious, with the desire to progress and grow with the business Happy to be very hands-on when required and also able to see the bigger picture!
