Senior Management Accountant

Finance Manager - Bader International Study Centre

The campus occupies a 600-acre estate, including a range of academic, residential and recreational facilities. Our dedicated faculty and staff provide exceptional academic programming for undergraduate and postgraduate students from Canada and around the world. We also serve as a venue for international conferences and meetings. Our wholly owned trading subsidiary, Herstmonceux Castle Enterprises Limited (HCE), is responsible for running the gardens and grounds, corporate events and other functions. The Director of Finance and Assets is looking for a fully-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or ACMA) to head up the small finance team and to support her in running all aspects of the financial and management accounting for the campus. Key tasks will include: Supervise members of the finance team to ensure the smooth-running of the finance office. Ensure the SAGE accounting system is maintained. Review the monthly payroll, ensuring accurate variance and exception reporting. Supervise the Assistant Finance Manager in processing accounting transactions and journals, including payroll and purchase ledger payments, VAT returns and HMRC returns. Ensure a timely close of monthly accounts including balance sheet reconciliations. Produce and distribute monthly management reports to budget holders and investigate variances.
