Assistant Accountant

Southwick, West Sussex £25-30,000

Commercial Analyst

Our client is a leading utilities provider and an award-winning business which operates successfully in a highly competitive market. The senior commercial manager is looking for a tenacious and astute analyst to maintain and develop the company's pricing models and to keep colleagues advised with regard to market analysis. You will be a key player in the development of MI reporting and will act as an effective gatekeeper for data integrity. Responsibilities will include: •Maintaining and developing pricing models. •Ensuring prices and tariffs and accurately reflected in systems and pricing tools. •Price reviews. •Developing a suite of MI reporting tools. •Ensuring robust controls and processes are in place to maintain data integrity. •Supporting and covering for, the senior commercial manager. Our ideal candidate will bring experience in a commercial business analysis or pricing role, and will have advanced Excel skills to include VBA and macros. You will also be a competent user of SQL or be happy and keen to learn. The opportunity Reporting to the Vice Provost and Executive Director, the Director of Finance and Assets will manage the financial, human resources and business operations of both the educational and commercial aspects of the organization. You will be a hands-on finance director, a trusted advisor to the SMT, and a key player in future strategic planning. Key responsibilities - Ensure full compliance with internal and external accounting reporting requirements, with the support of a dedicated finance team - Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgeting and reporting with all associated commentary and presentations - Provide strategic advice to the executive director and SMT in support of planning for new programs, initiatives and capital investment opportunities - Direct and oversee the HR and estates functions and providing guidance and leadership to these teams.
